We Pause For a Brief Intermission

I've decided to take a brief hiatus to tend to life and recharge my batteries. I'll be back next week with new posts, and in the meantime would like to leave you with an update on
Gilbert Patterson and his sister Zoey.

These pictures just slay me.

The perfect new parents say:

This is Jake and Miriam with a one month update! Hard to believe it's been that long. As you will see in the pictures, they act as though they've been together since birth. They play / go crazy for a good two hours, sleep for another two hours, and repeat without ceasing! One time when Gilbert was sleeping on our laps, a song came on called "Reading time with Pickle" and we thought the name Pickle was really cute and reflected his playful, spunky demeanor, so Gilbert is now Pickle! :) Pickle and Zoey.

Upon our second trip to the vet for boosters, they were both healthy and growing. Not a surprise since they eat more than we do! Between the 10 days of our first vet visit and the second, Zoey had gained a pound! They have both grown into beautiful young kittens, and Pickle looks even more mature and handsome than they day we brought him home.

And every morning, early in the morning, Pickle walks, purrs, and nudges across our faces as we sleep! We couldn't be more happy with our kittens and how well they get along. Thanks again for helping us find them!

A gigantic thank you to Jake and Miriam. Not only for the pix and updates, but for providing a home that we can all clearly see is a little slice of heaven. Pickle was on my list of kitty surnames, and it's just moved closer to the top.

I've Got Some Catching Up to Do

There have been so many comings and goings in my little corner of kittyland lately that I haven't keep you current on a few things. So let's remedy that.

You may have wondered about Lorna and Audrey. They haven't made an appearance in a while, and there's a darn good reason for that. Last Wednesday, they were adopted together into the best home any of us could ever have hoped for!

A wonderful couple had been looking for a pair of kittens - specifically black. They knew how these kittens are sometimes overlooked and were anxious to find two to love. Let me just say that while interviewing their new mama we both got a little misty-eyed. My tears were not of sadness, but of sheer delight that my girls had waited for the exact right family. Hers were from sheer joy that she had found the best kittens ever.

And now, their names. Lorna will henceforth be called Peanut. Cute in itself I must say, but cuter still when you know the reason why. New papa is from South Africa where there's a certain brand of peanut butter. Prepare to be amused and click here.

Audrey is Pearl. It's pretty and it sounds like Purr-l. Also very sweet.

I had put off announcing their adoption in hopes that I could share a report from their new home. Not yet, but perhaps they'll see this post and let us know how the girls are doing. I hope so.

Secondly, check out this adorable pic of Polly and Brenda Patterson with their new mama. They were spoiled with a GIANT custom made kitty tree shortly after their arrival. Keep spoiling those girls, Lacy!

And lastly, our Roger. How lovely is this? The final Purcell boy, all tucked in at home, has been dubbed the quite regal Sgt. Rigby. I don't have to tell you that the Sergeant is loved.

There. Now we're current. The Waverly's will be the only residents for a while. They're pretty little yet. Delores is so anxious to meet the new siblings on the other side of the door. It'll be another week or so before that eventful day.
