Lucy Perseveres

The tv was on - oops. You should turn off the sound and watch it again. And I hope no one minds the glut of videos lately. I've been so busy, and they're so much easier to capture than stills. But I've still got a few of those, too.

For those of you new to the blog thanks to Gary's momentous appearance on Cute Overload (HOORAY! and thanks, Katey C.!), I should explain that the static-y sound you hear on my videos is likely due to my rather antiquated camera. My apologies. Just turn off the sound. Who needs it anyway when you have a subject like Gary? Seriously.

Slap Happy

"Who is this having a slap-fest with Lucy?", you ask. It's Lilo! The third of three singletons currently in residence.

She's about 5 months old and has spent a good while in the Vet Treatment area of the shelter while tests are run to figure out why she has blood in her urine. No resolution just yet, but she needed a break and a chance to stretch her legs. So here she is with us for some respite from her kennel and good interaction with other kitties.

Lordy, she's sweet. And not to worry - Lucy can hold her own. She's a spitfire, that one.

A Gentle Reminder

Of the beauty that is the Golightly girls - in particular, Wanda's belly;

Of Lucy's fabulously floofy fluffiness;

And to April - that we're *patiently* awaiting a report on her trio of angels.

Lucy Lips!

I tried to think of a clever way to reference "...sink ships" but came up empty. Anybody..?

Did You Guess?

Addie Mae

The girls have just moved into their little slice of heaven - together! All three!!

They have the nicest, animal loving mom I could possibly have hoped for. Had I been able to hand pick, it would have been April. The girls also have two very sweet boys who are in for a huge surprise when they come home from visiting family this weekend! They've been wanting a kitten for some time now. Oh, to be a fly on the wall.

Recently, each boy was asked what he thought was a beautiful name for a girl. "April." Of course. "Mommy." Certainly. After some serious thinking, Lanie and Bella were decided to be the lovliest. The little guys had no idea that 'someone' was fishing for girl kitty names. Sweet!

Addie Mae was April's grandmother whom she never got to meet. It was to be her daughter's name if she'd had one. Now Evelyn has the honor. This touched my heart.

April has promised photos and I know she won't disappoint. I have a few more myself, so we haven't seen the last of the Golightly gals. Thank goodness!

Now I must tend to Lucy who has been asking where her playmates are off to. I know when she hears the full story she'll be just as happy for them as I am.

What's That You Say, Wanda?

You have some fabulous news for us? But you've decided to make us wait?? Oohh, you're such a tease! I guess we'd better check back real soon to see what you're up to.

A New Week, A Beautiful Girl

We've had a bit of a rough weekend, but we're coming around and looking forward to all the brightness the future brings.

We huddled in, got some rest and are feeling like we can start the week off right. I think dear Miss Evelyn has the right idea. A nap, a stretch, a little regrouping, and another nap.
