Who knew that those itty bitty babies would grow up to be such loving, caring cats who open their hearts and arms to so many lost little ones. It just reminds me of the amazing possibilities of the universe.
So precious! Happy New Year to you and the girls and Tiny Man! XO Anne & Beatrix and Potter & Bella & Pia (Bella and Pia will be 8 on this new years day).
Doodle Bean: She has before and it is a wonderful (and bittersweet) story. Go through Minnie's or Rosie's tags and find one called April 28, 2006 (I think that was the date/title).
Ah, but re-reading that post made me realize that Sue did hint at more of a background story. So, like Doodle Bean, I'll be waiting somewhat patiently! :)
Just curious, you see so many kittens: When can you tell what direction their personalities will be taking (shy like Frannie or outgoing like Rosie)? Are they always that way even as kittens? If you had a kitten class reunion, who would you voted as most changed?
Oh my, I had no idea Rosie and Minnie were your first foster kittens! They have grown into beauties and are helping you teach so very many kittens about the wonders of a safe, loving home!
I just love these pictures--what a lovely mother and what beautiful tiny kittens. How old were Rosie and Minnie when you took these photos? I've had my tortie since she was three weeks old (she's now 16) and Rosie and Minnie look a lot younger than that. Thank you so much for sharing--I also had no idea they were your first foster kittens, or, as I've been told, foster failures :).
To match perfect little kittens with equally perfect adopters.
Kittens Currently in Residence and Available
I am currently kittenless, and waiting patiently for a new batch of babies. Or maybe a singleton or two! I do love the singletons. Stay tuned!
All the previous little campers have been adopted into new, loving homes. But that doesn't mean you can't admire them. Please scroll to your heart's content! There are lots and lots of graduates and they're all adorable.
The kittens featured here are fostered for The Humane Society of Tacoma and Pierce County in Washington State. They are dearly loved and pampered until ready for adoption, usually at 8-10 weeks of age.
The big kitties passing through occasionally are my permanent residents. They are introduced to the babies once the 2-week quarantine has passed.
I try very hard to find each kitten the best family based on it's unique personality and the home environment. If I can send them off in pairs, all the better! Click here to learn why.
Happy kittens and happy adopters are equally important.
How It Works
Visits with the kittens can be scheduled once they're settled in, at least six weeks old, and determined to be healthy. If all parties agree that there's a good match, the wee ones can go home within a day or two of being neutered.
Surgery is scheduled when they reach 2 months and 2 pounds. They will also be microchipped and receive their initial vaccines before heading to their new home.
Adoptions are completed at the Humane Society in Tacoma. Arrangements will be made between the adopter and foster mom to meet and complete the paperwork.
All HS policies and procedures apply.
Interested in Adopting?
If you're in the Tacoma/Seattle vicinity, send me an email with a little information about your household - it's residents, human and otherwise, and anything else you think might be pertinent.
The Truth About Declawing
Most of us are aware of the inhumanity involved in declawing kitties. Learn the facts here and share them at every opportunity.
Lots of people simply don't know. It's our duty to educate them.
Thank you!
These cats are beautiful, are they new ones?

Minnie and Rosie obviously have excellent genes, judging by their lovely Cat Mom!

Hi Patti,
ReplyDeleteYou might be thinking about Frannie's bittersweet story, but I think all Sue's said about M & R is that they were her first fosters...
I could be wrong...
Happy 2012 to you and your human and fur-kid family alike!
ReplyDeleteThanks for all you do for the kittens.

ReplyDeleteMoya ~ I actually watched my girls being born at the shelter and brought them home - along with their mama - the same day. That was April 28, 2006.
ReplyDeleteYes, I've 'failed at fostering' a few times. ;)
