Is OCD Contagious??

Seriously. Can kitties get it? I'll admit to having a *mild* case myself, but someone else around here is showing signs.

Here's the scenario. I walked around the house the other day picking up miscellaneous cat toys and when I had a handful I dropped them on the floor in the kitten room.

It wasn't long before I found the following right outside the door:

Honestly! All lined up nice and tidy in a row! What the heck is up with that?? I was flummoxed and no one's copping to it.

  2. Aw, I think they got the idea that you wanted to gather toys for the kitten room and decided to help!

  3. Wow. You must install a nannycam to try to find out who.

  4. LOL that's awesome! If it is OCD, it's an adorable form of it!

  6. Looks like they may have all been against the door, and then when the door opened, they all were pushed out in a line.

  9. Cattergeists?? If the cat furniture starts stacking itself, you're in trouble! ;)

  12. Um, I'd like to know why the door to the kitten room is closed. Are there tiny little residents pitter pattering around inside the room and that's why????

  13. Well, cats ARE ocd. My cat Bob, lined up his catnip fishies around his water bowl one morning.....I was flumoxed when I saw them but ran to get the camera to keep the pictures.

  14. To be perfectly clear, the kitten room is on the left in the photos - Rosie's exiting it in photo #2. That's a closet door that's closed. The kitten room door was never closed and even so, it opens the other direction. So the mystery persists.

  15. Ha! My parents' cats, Star and Comet, did that once with Christmas ornaments. They removed them from the tree and lined them up in a tidy row--in a whole other room. Odd, but very cute!

  16. It's like when they stare at a spot on the wall for 20 minutes when there is nothing there. They do it to mess with their hoomins' minds.

  17. It's a mystery, all right! Although it does appear Rosie is taking credit!!

  19. I have a 13 year old siamese who has a bit of OCD. He 'hunts' for me from my daughters collection of 300+ beanie babies. Every single time he yowls about it while carrying them from the back of the house out to the living room (even at 2am) and if I'm in the living room he'll bring them right to my feet. Since there are so many beanie babies there are multiples of some. When he's in the mood he'll start matching them in pairs across the living room floor; some will be perfect pairs and a few will just be alike in size & color but it's incredibly obvious what he did.

    1. oh yes, and his average daily 'kill' is about 21. It was cute at first but now it's just a pain to pick up all those beanie babies every single day.
