Sweeeet!
I wasn't toying with you holding out like this. Honest. Well, maybe a little.
Okay, here's the deal. Little Lois Goodall made her entrance into this world with out a tail. Sweet, poofy, gorgeous - no tail.
Some of us are aware that while lots of kitties do just fine with no tail, thank you very much, there are those that have difficulty with elimination if the nerve endings are affected. In these cases, the decision to humanely euthanize can be the kindest, most loving choice to make for the kitty. Heartbreaking, but humane. I didn't want for you to meet her and fall in love without first feeling confident that she'd be fine.
And fine she is! It's been over a week now, and her litter box 'doings' are most excellent!
So it's my huge pleasure and absolute joy to present Miss Lois Goodall! I'm so happy to finally share her with you.

Squeeeee!! Tiny little Lois, you're just purrrfect!

ReplyDeleteShe has the cutest little kitten tocks ever!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! I'm so glad she's ok and we got to meet her.
ReplyDeleteHello Lois!
ReplyDeleteRumpys can be so very adorable - assuming everything 'works right'. Glad to hear that she is in that cat-egory.
I am so happy she is ok. She looks a bit like a little easter bunny from the back.
ReplyDelete(also sending more internet love to Annie)
She is quite a beauty!
ReplyDeleteHello Lois! What a cutie you are :)
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh, what an adorable little rumpy!
ReplyDeleteI think I love her!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweetie!
ReplyDeleteMove over Josephine (IBKC) there's another Bunny in town.....
ReplyDeleteI don't think they come any cuter!!! Oh my!!!
ReplyDeleteAs soon as I read she had no tail i held my breath until I saw she was all good!! She is very very cute!! YAY for kittens!
ReplyDeleteOMC, she's the most gorgeous little puff ball ever. :-)
ReplyDeleteSO glad she's fine! But without a tail, I would think her ability to jump up on things and balance would be affected, yes? Will she even be able to jump up on things? Climb with her claws, yes. Jump? I have no idea, sorry if that sounds like a stupid question.
Rumpies tend to have longer back legs so they jump very well. Perhaps a tailed cat has some advantages turning and such at speed but nothing that can't be overcome.
DeleteAs said in the post, the worry is that the defect that removed the tail extends on into the body and causes problems in the nerves, which she seems to have avoided.
I believe that the reason she has no tail is that she is actually a tiny character from "CATS" who left her tail in her dressing room.... the dressing room with the large star on the door.
ReplyDeleteAnne...I love everything you write about the kitties. You have such a way with words.

I like how she's so busy, playing with the tag then the feather then back to the tag, etc. I kept expecting one of her siblings to join in. She's adorable.
ReplyDeleteOh, if I did not live waaay out here in AL - I would hop on a plane and come get this girlie right now.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! A sweet ball of floof!
ReplyDeleteShe is so precious! Thank heaven all is ok with her. I've lost my heart to this tortie fluffball!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie! I'm glad you are able to actually tell whose litterbox doings are whose and that she's ok.

eeeee, so adorable! <3
ReplyDeletewe have a polydactyl rumpy (binx) and a regular toes stubby (minerva) who will be 8 this year; binx is a little prone to constipation but otherwise perfectly healthy (our last black cat, who had a full tail, was also prone to it, so i'd always assumed it was related to the colour genes rather than the lack of tail!)
they ahve no balance issues at all and are very busy and active; love climbing the cat tree and leaping around and skittering on the floors. binx is a famous leaper and bounds into arms when invited.
Hi Lois! Look at you, showing that feather who's boss! I'm so glad you're a healthy little girl.
ReplyDeleteYou and your siblings sure are a cute bunch of fuzzy monkeys!
She's absolutely gorgeous! So glad to hear her comings and goings (so to speak) are perfectly fine.
ReplyDeleteWelcome Miss Lois! Glad to hear you're well and so accomplished in the litter box. Maybe you could teach my Pennya thing or two...
ReplyDeleteFUZZBUTT!
ReplyDelete(That is all.)
So happy for Lois (and you!) I think she looks like a bunny, too!
ReplyDeletesmart choice, glad to see that things came out for the best :) Welcome Miss Lois
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable.
ReplyDeleteAren't you sneaky, Sue!! I guess sneaky for a good reason is all right, though. As long as you give those little furballs and that tufted tortie lots of love and food!!
ReplyDeleteShe is exquisite! A perfectly fluffy beautiful dilute tortie! I am beyond happy that she's all right--I am heartbroken when tailless kittens can't make it. The Goodalls are an utterly beautiful and perfect litter--including my two faves, torties and blues!
