..and Lois. Sleepy, poofy, tail-less Lois.
Lois, as you may recall is now Cora; Claude is Inigo. His name has very meaningful meaning which mama Kathleen once explained to me and I wouldn't presume to translate here. She said it so well, maybe she'll tell you about it in the comments. :)
Kathleen was so kind through the entire adoption process, but it didn't stop there. She extended a generous invitation for lunch at her home which I gratefully and happily accepted. I admired her beautiful, contented, growing-up babies; the fresh and flavorful lunch she'd prepared; a quiet connection through conversation while sharing the waterfront view from her living room. Ahhh... What a splendid afternoon it was.
Thank you, Kathleen. Your gentle spirit is a light in the world.
Now let's see those babies!!
Cartoons with Phoebe are not to be taken lightly.
This one is my favorite. It's love and it's art.

Oh what a lovely treat this morning. So sweet and I too love the last picture the best but I love them all. xoxox
ReplyDeleteHello. My name is Inigo Montoya. I don't know what happened to my father. Prepare to be snuggled.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
DeleteThanks to Kathleen for the update! I do hope she tells us why the name changes? Clearly these two are much loved!
ReplyDeleteAwwwwww. How grand to be able to visit your babies in their new home.
ReplyDeleteOkay, here's the skinny on the names.
ReplyDeleteFirst off, since Phoebe was veeery small, she would say to me, "I wanna puffy kitty..." She waited a long time for her kitten, and was excited to choose a name that fit Cora exactly; I think she did well! (And also, we have given her the middle name "Cottontail," so that when Cora misbehaves we can call her by many names in typical parental fashion, and also we can sing to her when she hops up and down our many stairs!
As for Inigo...I emailed Sue the VERY SECOND I saw his first upload. Look at those eyes! Look at those eyebrows! So soulful, like Don Quixote! I just knew he was my kitten. I talked with the kids about the name "Don Quixote," and they (rightly) pointed out that "It is too long to shorten, Mom." So -- I went for another soulful Basque name: Inigo. As in: 1. Ignatius Loyola (one of my favorite people) and 2. (As "this space for rent" wisely quotes) Inigo Montoya ("...you keeled my father, prepare to die!" we offer, when he jumps Cora). His official name is "Don Inigo Quixote," and Phoebs calls both cats "Iggy and Cora."
That's the whole story, and we are all very in love and so happy to be together! Inigo has a "peep" and a "chirp" and Cora has a lovely, low "trill", and they are both great communicators, and just the sweetest things ever.
Thank you very much again, Sue!

One more thing, about the sixth picture. You know that song from "The Cat in the Hat" cartoon?
ReplyDeleteA Cat in a Hat,
In French, "Chat Chapeau"
In Spanish, "El Gatto in a Sombrero!"
you are so right on that last photo!!
ReplyDelete(LOL@this space for rent)
What a wonderful visit. It is always nice to get confirmation that kitties go into homes that are so wonderful.
HAPPY DANCES for Happy Endings...
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely update for a pair of sweet, special, well loved kitties.
Thats the kind of home all kitties should have.
ReplyDeleteI love how Iggy is purring and kneading while watching the bugs. And, LOL at Cora Cottontail.
ReplyDeleteSo heart warming to see them again!
