Awww, I have a 20 year old kitty who was just like Iris. A new pair of clunky shoes would send her fleeing down the basement stairs!
But now she's mostly deaf, and while skittish if she sees you, she's now possibly the chillest cat ever! I think she loves not hearing anything!
And it does take a special person to love those cats; most people complain that their cat's too afraid!

I love all your cats, Sue. And Franny's story is equally touching. Her late litter mates broke my heart. What beauties they were. And what a beauty their sister grew up to be. Thank you for giving all these dear cats such love and good homes. My deaf Peeps is sending you purrs and soft wet noise touches as I type.

Thank you for the update on Iris. How does she do with Franny? I love the progression from "What are YOU doing in MY basket" to "Ok kid, let's just nap" to "Oh Thank God it left!"
My mom had a cat like Iris, Molly Bloom, who would bolt at anything moving. It takes a special person to adopt such cats and then give them the spce they need. Thank you.

I never knew you had a third cat (or one that was such a stunning beauty as Iris) so I read her story. I'm so pleased she's with you and has a forever home where she feels safe and can snuggle on her perch with kitties. I hope she gets the courage to climb back up there soon.
